Who is Jesus?

Jesus Himself asked that question. Jesus asked His disciples “Who do people say I am?” The disciples answered, " Some say you are John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and other say Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." Then Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Then Jesus said, “Blessed are you Simon Peter; for no man told you this, but my Father which is in heaven.”

People today also have their own answer to that question. But how can people really answer the question, unless they have read about Him. We hope this site will help you to find the answer to the question, “Who is Jesus?”

Jesus' Baptism

           
 This story is taken from Matthew 3:13-17 and Luke 3:21-22

One day Jesus went from Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to the Jordan River.  That was when crowds of people were being baptized by John the Baptist.  Jesus wanted to be baptized by John.  But John tried to talk Jesus out of it.  For John said, "I am the one who needs to be baptized by you, so why are you coming to me?"

 But, Jesus said, "It must be done, because we must do everything that is right."  So John agreed to baptize Jesus. 

After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, and was praying, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove and lighting on Him.  And a voice from heaven said, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well please."
