Who is Jesus?

Jesus Himself asked that question. Jesus asked His disciples “Who do people say I am?” The disciples answered, " Some say you are John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and other say Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." Then Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Then Jesus said, “Blessed are you Simon Peter; for no man told you this, but my Father which is in heaven.”

People today also have their own answer to that question. But how can people really answer the question, unless they have read about Him. We hope this site will help you to find the answer to the question, “Who is Jesus?”

Jesus Heals A Man With An Evil Spirit

This lesson is taken from Mark 1:21-28

Jesus and His companions went to a town named Capernaum. The word “Companions” here means the people that were with Jesus. Every Sabbath day Jesus went into the synagogue and taught the people.  The people were surprised by Jesus' teaching, for He taught as one who had real authority, not like the teachers of religious law did.

Just then a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit began shouting, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth?  Have you come to destroy us?  I know who you are!  You are the Holy One sent from God!”

Jesus cut the evil spirit short, for Jesus said, “Be silent!  Come out of the man!”  At that, the evil spirit screamed and shook the man violently, but then the evil spirit left the man.

The people were all surprised, and they began to ask each other, what had happened, “What is this, some kind of new teaching?  It has such authority!  Even evil spirits obey His orders!”  The news of what Jesus had done spread quickly throughout all of that area of Galilee.

Our lesson shows us that Jesus is greater and more powerful than any form of evil. All Jesus had to do was speak and the evil spirit had to obey.
