Who is Jesus?

Jesus Himself asked that question. Jesus asked His disciples “Who do people say I am?” The disciples answered, " Some say you are John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and other say Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." Then Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Then Jesus said, “Blessed are you Simon Peter; for no man told you this, but my Father which is in heaven.”

People today also have their own answer to that question. But how can people really answer the question, unless they have read about Him. We hope this site will help you to find the answer to the question, “Who is Jesus?”

Jesus Feeds Five Thousand

This story is taken from John 6:1-13

Jesus crossed over to the far side of Sea of Galilee.   A large crowd of people kept following Him wherever He went, because they saw His miracles as He healed the sick.  Then Jesus went up the mountain and sat down on the mountain side with His disciples sitting down around Him.  At this time it was getting close for the yearly Passover celebration.  When Jesus looked up He saw a great crowd of people coming up the mountain looking for Him.  Turning to Philip, Jesus asked, “Philip, where can we buy bread to feed all these people?”  You see, Jesus was testing Philip, for Jesus already knew what He was going to do.

Philip told Jesus that it would take a small fortune to feed all of these people!  Then Andrew, Peter brother, said to Jesus, "there is a young boy here with five loaves of barley bread, and two small fish.  But, what good is that, for how far would that go with such a large crowd of people?"

You see Andrew was thinking like we would, that 2 small fish and 5 loaves of bread couldn't possible feed 5,000 people.  Andrew wasn't thinking, he had seen Jesus do miracles and Jesus was fixing to do another miracle.  What did Jesus do?  Let's keep reading and find out.

Jesus told his disciples to have all the people to sit down on the ground.  There was plenty of grass there for the people to sit down on.  There were five thousand men there, and that wasn't even counting the women and children.  Then Jesus took the five loaves of bread and He gave thanks to God, and the bread was passed out to the people.  Jesus did the same thing with the two fish.  And everyone ate until they were full.

After everyone had all they wanted to eat Jesus told his disciples, to pickup the leftovers, so that nothing would be wasted.”  Remember there were only five loaves of barley bread to start with, but after the disciples picked up the leftovers there were twelve baskets that were filled with pieces of bread that the people didn't eat!

In our story, Jesus did a miracle with the bread and the fish.  Remember Jesus took five loaves of bread and two fish and he feed over five thousand people  and there were still twelve baskets full of food left over.  What a miracle!
